ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyze the contribution of Islamic insurance (takaful) in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Indonesia. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and content analysis techniques on various secondary sources such as reports from OJK, UNDP, and academic literature, this research highlights the strategic role of Islamic insurance in providing financial protection based on Sharia principles and promoting financial inclusion. The analysis results show that Islamic insurance makes a tangible contribution to several SDG targets, particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequality). Moreover, the growth potential of the Islamic insurance industry is significant, although it still faces challenges such as limited collaboration among stakeholders and regulatory barriers. This study recommends strengthening synergies between the government, industry players, and the public to optimize the role of Islamic insurance in supporting inclusive and equitable sustainable development.
